I prefer to use, because they are easy to handle, glasses with a rubber ball. By one- or more squeezes of the ball a more or less strong vacuum is created.

There are also, in particular if working only punctually above acupuncture points, vacuum syringe with a small plastic attachment.

In 'fire cupping', a vacuum is created in simple cupping glasses. This happens in this way:

you take a pair of tweezers with in alcohol-impregnated wadding (absorbent cotton) or

roll up the wadding on a cotton swab, dive it in spirit, lighted it by moving it into the glass close to the cupping area and put the glass immediately to the appropriate place.
